PURPOSE: An external hard disk drive having a memo function is provided to enable a user to easily recognize what kind of data is recorded in the hard disk drive. CONSTITUTION: An external hard disk drive having a memo function comprises a power supply unit, a data transfer unit for data communication between the hard disk drive and a computer, and a case(10) with one side closed by a fixed frame. A memo unit(20) for taking a note is formed on a surface of the case. A pen unit(30) used for writing on the memo unit is accepted in the case.
