<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED illumination device using an LED light source module which is easily constituted while facilitating replacement of an LED light source. <P>SOLUTION: The LED illumination device (170) configured to irradiate the end faces of a plurality of stacked light guide plates with irradiation light emitted from LEDs to emit light from the light emitting surfaces of the light guide plates includes an LED light source module 150 which contains a plurality of LED light sources, and is slidably and detachably attached to a storage portion of the LED illumination device body. The LED light source module 150 is equipped with: electrodes (131, 132) to which electric current is supplied from the LED illumination device body to light up the LED light sources; and a heat-transfer element (140) for releasing the heat of the LED light sources toward the LED illumination device body.
