PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction gauge measuring instrument which is made lightweight and avoids conduction due to electrical short-circuitings, when being mounted straddling a pair of rails. SOLUTION: The construction gauge measuring instrument, capable of measuring a construction gage G of a train passing through the pair of rails R1, R2 includes its instrument body 1 which is made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, is mounted so as to straddle the pair of rails and has an extension part 1f, extending up to a position of the construction gage G in the mounted state; and a reference member 2, which is formed as a part of the instrument body 1 and configured capable of contacting the edge R1a of one rail R1, such that the contact point becomes a reference point, when the construction gauge G is measured. The reference member 2 is constituted of a resin material capable of mutually insulating the instrument body 1, positioned on both sides, sandwiching the reference member 2.
