PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable chair which is opened/closed with one operation only by a square link, supports itself directly when folded, and also holds a stably closed attitude. SOLUTION: When the foldable chair is folded, the fulcrum of a seat plate and a front leg, the fulcrum of a seat plate and a rear leg, and a rear leg ground surface are aligned substantially on one line. Besides, a pseudo isosceles triangle is formed, where the line connecting the above three points and a straight line connecting the fulcrum of the seat plate and the front leg and a front leg ground surface are defined as oblique sides and a straight line connecting the front leg ground surface and the rear leg ground surface is defined as a bottom side. Thus, the chair stably supports itself. A couple in a closing direction for the folded attitude is made to be equal to or more than the couple in a folding opening direction concerning the self-weight couples of respective members, which are generated based on the ground surface and the four fulcrum shafts of the square link.
