The extractor hood (1) has a viewing hood (2) partly surrounding a fire-place (3). The viewing hood includes a wedge-shaped roof (20). A front surface (201) of the roof sectionally reaches from a front side of the viewing hood upto a back side of the viewing hood. The front surface of the front side is upward inclined to the back side of the viewing hood. The roof of the viewing hood includes two side surfaces (202, 203). A recess is provided for receiving the fire-place at the front surface of the roof in a top side of the viewing hood.
