<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for displaying a contents menu of an audio visual device which has a good operability upon selecting contents. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for displaying an available contents menu of the audio visual devices display device 14, the user previously stores an item used upon contents selection in an operational history storage 17.
