PURPOSE: A projective image display device which more effectively controls the amount of the light by applying an iris to a projection system is provided to supply an optimized screen according to the state of an image by controlling the extent of the opening at predetermined time interval. CONSTITUTION: An optical modulation unit(110) modulates the lighting of a light source(100) based on an input image signal. A projection system(120) projects an image on a screen. An iris(140) is formed to be classified in a plurality of areas. The iris controls the quantity of light projected about the screen. An iris control unit(150) controls the extent of the opening about each domain of the iris corresponding to the input image signal.
