A SPOOL VALVE WITH REDUCED CAVITATION DAMAGE

PURPOSE: A spool valve with reduced cavitation damage is provided to prevent damage to a spool port adjacent to a port opening of a valve housing. CONSTITUTION: A spool valve(10) comprises a valve housing(20). A spool expanded in the axial direction for accepting a bore(24) is formed in the valve housing. The rotational motion of a valve spool is allowed inside the bore. One or more columnar control edges are provided in the valve spool which comprises rotation transmission units(40,50). The cavitation driving erosion of one or more control edges is distributed on the columnar direction site of the control edge.
