Catheter with single-layer internal shaft

The catheter e.g. balloon catheter (1), has a single-layer internal shaft (5) with an inner surface forming a lumen. The shaft is made of a material such as 96 to 99.9 of gram-equivalent weight percentage of polymer, copolymer and/or mixture of polymer and copolymer, 0 to 1 of gram-equivalent weight percentage of talc, calcium carbonate, silicon dioxide and wax. A sum of the weight percentage of talc, calcium carbonate, silicon dioxide and wax is not more than 4 gram-equivalent weight percentage. Specifications in the weight percentage of the material refer to complete weight of the shaft. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a single-layer internal shaft for a catheter.
