<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dead time compensating circuit suitable for a voltage-type inverter which outputs a three-phase AC current having a modulated controlled pulse width to supply it to a load, based on a three-phase AC voltage command value generated by a given frequency command value and a voltage command value. <P>SOLUTION: The voltage-type inverter is formed of a power converter 1 and a controller 10. The controller 10 is provided with a command value generating means 3, a integrator 4, a coordinate transformation device 5, a command value computing unit 6, a current detector 7, a coordinate transformation device 9, a filter circuit 11, a time constant instruction unit 12, a coordinate transformation device 13, a compensation voltage computing unit 14, an amplitude value computing unit 15, a filter circuit 16 and a voltage limiter 17.
