POLARIZATION MAINTAINING FIBER, FIBER OPTIC GYROSCOPE HAVING THE SAME AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING POLARIZATION MAINTAINING FIBER

PURPOSE: A polarization maintaining type optical fiber, an optical fiber gyroscope thereof, and a polarization maintaining type optical fiber manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the manufacturing degradation of an optical fiber and to improve the degree of freedom of a design value. CONSTITUTION: A cladding unit(120) surrounds a core unit(110). A stress apply unit(130) is symmetrical to the core unit and is arranged in the cladding unit. The stress apply unit includes a first glass layer and a second glass layer. The first glass layer has a lower melting point than the cladding unit. The second glass layer has a higher melting point than the first glass layer and is radially laminated in the first glass layer.
