PURPOSE: A power transmission device for a water pump is provided to transmit the power of an engine to a water pump when the power for the drive of a field coil is cut off. CONSTITUTION: A power transmission device for a water pump comprises a field coil(130), a linking disk(122), and a pulley connecting member(140). The field coil is installed between the outside of a pulley installation unit(112) and a pulley(134). The field coil generates attracting magnetic flux due to power source . The linking disk is installed on one end of a rotary shaft(116). A linking projection(126) is projected from the linking disk. The pulley connecting member is installed in the pulley.
