The mechanism is assembled of four toothed wheels (11, 13, 15, 17) to be rotated with a lever (9). Only half of the outer surface of the gear (11) fitted with the lever is provided with teeth, while the adjacent wheel (15) and the wheel (17) adjacent to same are fitted with surrounding teeth. Only a quarter of the contour of the fourth wheel (13) positioned at the opposite side of the drive gear (11) is covered with teeth. When used at an adhesive binding device the lever (9) acts on the wheels essential for a specific operation without a second lever or holding element required.
