A HIGH-SPEED IMPACT ENERGY DISSIPATION DEVICE FOR BREAKING DOWN HIGH-SPEED IMPACT ENERGY TO PREVENT FATAL DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND ITS OCCUPANTS IS DISCLOSED. THE DEVICE INCLUDES A SLIDABLE ASSEMBLY WITH A SERIES OF ELEMENTS WITH PREDETERMINED SHEAR STRENGTH ARRANGED IN A SERIES STAGGERED INTO TWO ROWS IN TANDEM FORMATION MEANT FOR SHEARING OFF EACH UNIT INDIVIDUALLY IN A SERIES UPON RECEIVING THE HIGH-SPEED IMPACT ENERGY TO FRAGMENTIZE AND SPREAD OUT THE DIRECT IMPACT ENERGY INTO MANY POCKETS OF SMALL FORCES WITHIN THE COLLISION INTERVAL THEREOF PREVENT LARGE FORCES FROM TRANSMITTING THROUGH THE SAID DEVICE AT ANY ONE TIME.
