The device (1) has a body (11), and a magnetic or magnetizable securing part for securing an object on a metal support (10), where the part is formed by magnetic or magnetizable metal mass (12) from composite material comprising metallic fibers. A radio frequency identification label records contact and/or separation of the object and the support. A portion of an antenna (5) permits electromagnetic coupling between a reading member of the label and the label. The antenna and the securing part are placed in different vertical planes. An independent claim is also included for a method for securing an object on a metal support.
