The reservoir has a hopper (12) comprising an upper loading opening (18) for loading ice particles inside the hopper. A lower discharge opening (22) is connected to a projection installation. Mechanical contact units i.e. endless screw (64), are installed inside the hopper, where the particles are in contact with the contact units when the particles are located inside the hopper. Periodic drive units i.e. mechanical vibrator (32), are mechanically connected to the contact units, so as to provoke movement of the particles and driving of the particles towards the discharge opening.
