PURPOSE: A light emitting device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to improve luminous efficiency by separating a process of forming a current block layer from a thermal process of an ohmic layer and a reflective layer. CONSTITUTION: An ohmic layer(142) and a reflective layer(144) are formed in the first area on a second conductive semiconductor layer(130). A current blocking layer(150) is formed on a second area excluding the first area of the second conductive semiconductor layer. A first electrode(160) is formed on the first conductive semiconductor layer. The current blocking layer is formed with a non-ohmic metal.
