<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an elevator device capable of shortening time required from the occurrence of an abnormality in the elevator device to the generation of a braking force, and preventing false operation. <P>SOLUTION: This elevator device includes a monitoring part with a car operation detecting means for detecting the respective actual movements of a first car and a second car elevating in the same hoistway, and an outputting part for predicting the presence/absence of a collision between the first car and the second car based on information from the car operation detecting means and outputting an operation signal when the collision is predicted. Each of the first car and the second car includes a braking member capable of being contacted with and separated from a guide rail guiding elevation of the first car and the second car, and moreover, a braking means for pressing the braking member to the guide rail by the input of the operation signal and putting a brake on at least one of the first car and the second car. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
