<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device including a coupling means disposed between a helical gear and another gear in a power transmitting system, and preventing the coupling means from unintended coming-off in driving control of a paper feed tray accompanied through paper feeding. <P>SOLUTION: The paper feeding device includes a lifting and lowering means of the paper feed tray, a driving means for driving the lifting and lowering means, and a power transmitting means disposed between the two means. The power transmitting means includes the helical gear provided movably in an axial direction, a first gear fixed coaxially with the helical gear, and the coupling means provided between the helical gear and the first gear and forming the power transmitting system between the helical gear and the first gear through axial movement of the helical gear. The driving means has a first speed during a mode in which the paper feed tray in a prescribed position is lifted until the uppermost paper sheet reaches a paper feed position, and a second speed during a mode in which the paper feed tray is lifted so that the uppermost paper position displaced by paper feeding is maintained to be the paper feed position, and the second speed is slower than the first speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
