摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus detection device capable of shortening a period of time required for reading out a voltage signal output from a plurality of focus detection pairs while suppressing the power consumption of a post-stage processing circuit and an increase in a circuit scale. SOLUTION: The focus detection device includes: a first pixel row pair which includes a first pixel row including a plurality of first photoelectric conversion elements arranged one-dimensionally in a first direction and a second pixel row arranged at predetermined intervals from the first pixel row and is configured such that a pair of pupil-divided first subject images are projected to the first pixel row and the second pixel row; a second pixel row pair which includes a third pixel row including a plurality of second photoelectric conversion elements arranged one-dimensionally in a second direction and a fourth pixel row arranged at predetermined intervals from the third pixel row and is configured such that a pair of pupil-divided second subject images are projected to the third pixel row and the fourth pixel row; and a pixel signal output means for exclusive output of a first pixel signal read out from the first pixel row pair or a second pixel signal read out from the second pixel row pair.
