PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monoazo pigment as a colorant used for polymerized toner for electrophotography that is used as a developer for developing an electrostatic image in electrophotography, electrostatic recording, electrostatic printing, or the like. SOLUTION: The monoazo pigment is synthesized by combining an acetoacet-ortho-anisidide coupling component having a polarity in C.I. PIGMENT YELLOW 74 and an acetoacetylaminobenzenesulfonic acid, and the monoazo pigment is used and dispersed to obtain a pigment-dispersed product, and a polymerized toner for electrophotography is produced using the pigment-dispersed product. The pigment-dispersed product has a low viscosity, and the polymerized toner used as a developer for developing an electrostatic image in electrophotography, electrostatic recording, electrostatic printing, or the like allows a high-density printed matter to be obtained.
