PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding device for a generator brush capable of grinding a sliding surface of the brush with high accuracy and efficiency. SOLUTION: A brush fixing part 11 is capable of fixing a reference plane of a reference brush and the sliding surface of the brush for replacement to be directed in the same direction and arranged side by side. A contact part 33 has a roller 33a provided to be movable relatively to the reference brush so that the contact part 33 may move along the reference plane in a state in contact with the reference plane of the reference brush fixed to the brush fixing part 11. A grinding part 34 has a grinding material 34a rotating at the same axis as that of the roller 33a. The grinding material 34a is made movable relatively to the brush for replacement together with the roller 33a so that the grinding material 34a may grind the sliding surface of the brush for replacement according to the shape of the reference plane of the reference brush in a state in contact with the sliding surface of the brush for replacement fixed to the brush fixing part 11.
