PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic working apparatus with which a cylindrical base stock is properly thinned by suppressing occurrence of swelling on the cylindrical base stock. SOLUTION: In the plastic working apparatus, a roller 3 is constituted by forming an inclined pressing surface 3a which is arranged on the front side in the relatively moving direction of the roller of the peak part 3p which is pressed against the cylindrical base stock W and inclined in a form that a place on the more front side in the relatively moving direction of the roller becomes more distant from the outer peripheral surface 2s of the mandrel 2, and a receiving surface 3b which is arranged continuously or closely to the front side in the relatively moving direction of the roller of the inclined pressing surface 3a and inclined at a smaller angle than the inclined angle of the inclined pressing surface 3a with respect to the outer peripheral surface 2s of the mandrel 2, or parallel to the outer peripheral surface 2s of the mandrel 2, and is constituted so that the shortest distance in the orthogonal direction of the outer peripheral surface which orthogonally crosses the outer peripheral surface 2s of the mandrel 2 between a peak part 3p and the receiving surface 3b is not less than the amount of thickness reduction, which is the thinning amount of the cylindrical base stock W.
