PURPOSE: A network management device for updating configuration information with information collected from object management equipments and a method thereof are provided to efficiently collect/manage network information by updating only the changed information in case that the change frequency is low and a data volume is large. CONSTITUTION: A data collector(210) periodically collects configuration information data from the network management object equipment. A data operation processor(220) makes the collected configuration information data into the N-bite compressed data by a specified operation. A storing part(230) temporarily stores the N-bite compressed data. A comparator(240) judges the change by comparing the N-bite compressed data of a previous cycle with the N-bite compressed data of the current cycle. An information updater(250) informs an upper module of information change event generation depending on a judging result and updates the configuration information of the corresponding network management object equipment. |
