<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blue color composition for color filters, the composition forming a color filter, which in turn achieves a high lightness and a wide color reproduction region; and to provide a color filter using the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the blue color composition, a colorant comprises at least a phthalocyanine blue pigment and a dye expressed by general formula (1), wherein: R1 represents N or CH; D represents an electron-donating group: A represents an electron-withdrawing group; and R2 and R3 each represent hydrogen or a 1-6C substituent.
