<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make compatible an early rise of the temperature of an exhaust gas cooling part, and the progress of the warm-up of a catalyst by a secondary air supply system. <P>SOLUTION: In this secondary air introducing device for an internal combustion engine having an exhaust gas cooling part and a secondary air passage for introducing secondary air into an exhaust passage, a secondary air introduction opening is formed between a downstream end of the exhaust gas cooling part and a downstream end of a place upstream of the exhaust gas cooling part and closest to the exhaust gas cooling part and to be cooled by cooling water flowing in the cooling water passage. BY this, most of reaction heat generated by reaction of the unburned gas contained in the exhaust gas and the secondary air can be used to raise the temperature of the cooling water in the exhaust gas cooling part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
