AGE ESTIMATION DEVICE, METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an age estimation device and method and program for obtaining a recognition result close to a result that a human being perceives.

SOLUTION: An age estimation device 10 for estimating the age of a person projected on image data includes: a dimensional compression part 11 for outputting low dimensional data by operating dimensional compression to the image data; and an discriminator 12 for estimating the age of a person by using featured values included in the low dimensional data based on a learning result, wherein the parameter of the dimensional compression by the dimensional compression part 11 and the featured values to be used by the discriminator 12 for the estimation of the age are set on the basis of the evaluation result of generalization capability using weighting functions showing the criticality of an age estimation error by age, and the learning of the discriminator 12 is performed on the basis of the weighting functions.
