PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection cover mounting structure for an oil pan effectively protecting the oil pan from impact applied on the oil pan. SOLUTION: This structure includes the oil pan 2 mounted on a cylinder block Cb and a protection cover 1 mounted on the oil pan 2 so as to protect the oil pan 2. The protection cover 1 is provided with a cover body part 11 formed so as to cover the oil pan 2 and a front side impact absorbing part 12 projecting toward the oil pan 2 from the cover body part 11.
