PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stretch a polymer film while suppressing breakage of the film. SOLUTION: Off-line stretching equipment includes a housing chamber and a tenter. The housing chamber houses a preceding film roll and a succeeding film roll. The tenter expands the width of the preceding film 3a while holding the clamping area 3w of the preceding film delivered from the preceding film roll. After all the preceding film 3a is delivered, the succeeding film is delivered to the tenter from the succeeding film roll. In a joining section installed before the tenter, the rear end 3ax of the preceding film 3a and the leading end 3bx of the succeeding film 3b are superimposed, preparing a superimposed part 60. In the superimposed part 60, a fusion area 60y is installed in a portion separated from the clamping area 3w to the center side in the direction B. The joining section 11 performs a joining processing in the fusion area 60y.
