PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wideband voltage detection device capable of also detecting a rapidly changing voltage of a detection object. SOLUTION: The voltage detection device 1 for detecting an AC voltage V1 generated in the detection object 4 includes: a detection electrode 22, disposed opposite to the detection object 4 and coupled capacitively with the detection object 4; a bootstrap circuit 27 operated by a floating power source generated, based on a reference voltage (the voltage of a voltage signal V4) for outputting a detection voltage signal V2, whose amplitude is changed corresponding to an AC potential difference Vdi between an AC voltage V1 and the reference voltage; a photocoupler 26 for electrically insulating the detection voltage signal V2 and outputting it as a detection voltage signal V2a; and a voltage-generating circuit 34 for generating a voltage signal V4, by amplifying the detection voltage signal V2a so that the potential difference Vdi is reduced.
