PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film roll for reducing revolving strain caused by the thickness step of a winding core, in the roll of winding an extra thick film, particularly a film having a thickness exceeding 188 μm on a core. SOLUTION: This film roll satisfies a specific related expression in an angle (θ) formed by a winding starting end surface and the film plane of the film contacting with the core, through a method such as cutting with a sharp cutter, by fixing the angle between the film plane of a cutting place of the film and the cutter to a specific range in a state of heating the winding starting end of the film contacting with the core to the temperature of a glass transition point or more of a film material.
