<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a web supply device capable of improving productivity such as a printing label produced from a web, while easily coping with a sudden change in the supply speed of the web. <P>SOLUTION: This web supply device 10 carries and supplies the web 16 from a roll 14 to a web consuming part 88, and includes one or more of unit members 28 having a rack slide mechanism meshed with a pair of racks 22 and 24 freely slidable by sandwiching rotatably supported one pinion 26, expansion members 32 and 36 for respectively energizing the pair of racks 22 and 24 in the opposite direction, and carrier rollers 28 and 30 respectively arranged in the pair of racks 22 and 24 and engaging with the carrying web 16.
