PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely cool a mechanical seal without installing unnecessary piping. SOLUTION: This pump includes a casing 10 in which a suction chamber 21 communicating with a suction port 14a and a delivery chamber 22 communicating with a delivery port 15a are formed, an impeller 24 connected to a rotary shaft 27 passing through the casing 10 and disposed in the delivery chamber 22, and the mechanical seal 31 disposed at a section of the casing 10 which the rotary shaft 27 passes through. In the pump, a recirculation channel 37 re-circulating liquid is disposed in the casing 10 in such a manner that an inlet 37a is positioned near the mechanical seal 31 and that an outlet 37b is positioned in a low pressure zone where pressure is lower than flow pressure at the inlet 37a at an upstream side of the suction chamber 21.
