PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely pull out an existing pile when it is damaged, destroyed or ruptured. SOLUTION: This cylindrical casing for pulling out the existing pile has an excavating claw at a lower edge, and has an inside diameter larger than an outside diameter of the existing pile to be pulled out. In the casing, the plurality of claws are provided at regular spaces in a circumferential direction among them on a peripheral wall near a lower end of the casing. Each of the claws is journaled in such a manner as to be swingable between a position to be brought about almost along the peripheral wall of the casing by earth pressure in the casing during the normal rotation of the casing, and a position to be raised almost in a centripetal direction by the earth pressure in the casing during the reverse rotation of the casing. Additionally, each of the claws has a length which is set so that the claw in the position to be raised in the centripetal direction can be locked to a lower end of the existing pile when the casing is jacked into the outer periphery of the existing pile.
