<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a blank time upon mode changeover from 12 segments to 1 segment. <P>SOLUTION: This digital broadcast receiver includes: a first decoding section for decoding 12-segment broadcast data to first video data; a second decoding section for decoding 1-segment broadcast data to second video data; a changeover section for outputting either of the first and second video data to a video display unit; and a control section for controlling the changeover section. When electric field intensity is lowered while the first decoding section decodes the 12-segment broadcast data to the first broadcast data and the changeover section outputs the first video data to the video display unit, the control section causes the second decoding section to start to decode the 1-segment broadcast data to the second video data, and causes the changeover section to changes over the output of the first video data to the output of the second video data when code errors of the first broadcast data increase, whereby a blank time in changing over the 12-segment broadcast to the 1-segment broadcast can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
