PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a finite motion guide device with a position keeping mechanism which can brake a slider relatively to a base without enlarging the size in the longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: In the finite motion guide device with the base which has a rolling element rotation face, the slider which is attached movably to the base and has a loaded rotating face of the rolling element to face the rolling element rotation face and a plurality of rolling elements intervened between the rolling element rotation face and the loaded rolling element rotation face, either the base or the slider is equipped with the position keeping mechanism which the slider can be braked relatively to the base.
