PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-specific reaction inhibitor effective for easily and effectively inhibiting a non-specific reaction accompanying to an immunoassay method and attaining better assayed result, and to provide an assaying method inhibiting non-specific reactions. SOLUTION: There are provided the non-specific reaction inhibitor to eliminate influence of non-specific interference with a heterophile antibody such as human anti-mouse antibody (HAMA) in quantitative determination of an analyte by immunoassay, and the method for inhibiting non-specific reactions characterized by coexistence of an antibody having a function to inhibit non-specific factor activity and non-reactive with the analyte, especially an antibody to a DNA polymerase and derived from Thermococcus kodakaraensis KOD1 strain in the reaction system.
