The transmission has four planetary gears sets (P1-P4) comprising sun wheels (So1-So4), planet wheel carriers (Pt1-Pt4), hollow wheels (Ho1-Ho4) and six switching elements (S1-S6). The carrier of the second set is constantly connected with the hollow wheel of the fourth set. The sun wheel of the third set is constantly connected with the sun wheel of the fourth set. The hollow wheel of the third set is constantly connected with the carrier of the fourth set. Three of the elements are designed as clutches and the remaining elements are designed as brakes.
