PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod movement regulating device having a compact structure. SOLUTION: The rod movement regulating device 101 for regulating the movement of a rod 1 in the axial direction comprises a stopper pin 10 which is arranged in a groove 7 formed in the rod 1 to regulate or permit the movement of the rod 1 in the axial direction, and a rotating means 11 for rotating the stopper pin 10 around its axis. A cutout 17 for permitting the movement of the rod 1 in the axial direction is formed in the stopper pin 10. The stopper pin 10 is set to the rotational position at which the rod 1 is unable to advance in the cutout 17 when regulating the movement of the rod 1 in the axial direction. On the other hand, when permitting the movement of the rod 1 in the axial direction, the rod 1 is set to the rotational position at which the rod 1 is able to advance in the cutout 17.
