PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently process a digital audio signal transmitted from a separate disk drive in accordance with an operating state of the disk drive. SOLUTION: An audio signal output system 1 includes: a digital signal output device (disk drive 10) including a data reader (RF amplifier 16) which reads audio information from a recording medium (optical disk 12), a digital audio signal output unit (servo LSI 17) which outputs the audio information, and an identification signal output unit (CPU 11) which outputs an identification signal indicating the validity of an audio signal; and an analog audio signal output device (master system 20) including a digital audio signal receiver (system controller 21) which receives a digital audio signal, a decoding unit (decoder 23) which decodes the digital audio signal, and a decoding process controller (system controller 21) which controls a decoding process based on the identification signal output from the identification signal output unit (CPU 11).
