PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically choose user data appropriate to oneself from an external removable storage medium. SOLUTION: In a programmable controller (PLC) capable of installing the user data from the external storage medium, the device is equipped with a choosing means for choosing a folder corresponding to a model name or a serial number from the folder prepared in the external storage medium by comparing the folder name for storing the user data, prepared in the external storage medium, with the model name for or the serial number of an own PLC, and a reading means for reading the user data stored in the chosen folder and installing it in the own PLC.
