PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for heavy load which has significantly improved cut durability against boring, cuts or the like generated in a belt layer even when a tread part steps on an obtuse-angled and/or acute-angled projection in rolling of the load of the tire. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire for heavy load includes: a belt 6 comprising six belt layers 1B-6B which are arranged in an outer circumferential side of a crown area of a radial carcass 5, and are rubber-covered layers of steel cords; and a tread rubber 7 which is arranged in the outer circumferential side of the belt 6. The first to sixth belt layers 1B-6B are sequentially arranged from the belt layer positioned nearest the carcass 5 outwardly in a radial direction. Cross angles with respect to a tire equatorial plane of the respective steel cords of the first and second belt layers 1B, 2B range from 0 to 10°. The flexural rigidity in the radial direction of at least the first belt layer 1B is smaller than the flexural rigidities of the respective third and fourth belt layers 3B, 4B.
