PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new Gamuzon type planar speaker. SOLUTION: When the planar type speaker (1) is installed in a horizontal position, it is provided with: a diaphragm (10) formed of a flexible printed circuit board of a nearly elliptical shape which is long in a horizontal direction (an X direction) of the planar speaker; and a plurality of magnets (14) which approaches to the diaphragm and extends in the horizontal direction (the X direction). The plurality of the magnets (14<SB>11</SB>to 14<SB>55</SB>) in which N pole bar magnets and S pole bar magnets are installed alternately and nearly in parallel, and generate magnetic fluxes in a perpendicular direction of the planar speaker (+Y direction or -Y direction). A conductor pattern (9) formed on the diaphragm is a conductor pattern of a coil shape formed in a spiral shape, generates pattern fluxes (9F<SB>1</SB>to 9F<SB>6</SB>, 9B<SB>1</SB>to 9B<SB>6</SB>) which extend plural times for every adjoining magnets. A sound current of each pattern flux flows in the same horizontal direction (+X direction or -X direction), and the diaphragm is driven by interaction of magnetic fluxes of the perpendicular direction (+Y direction and -Y direction) generated by the plurality of the magnets and the sound currents of the horizontal direction (+X direction or -X direction) which flow in the pattern fluxes.
