<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium thickness detection device for accurately detecting thickness of a medium without interference of a magnetic field of each displacement detection sensor even if a plurality of displacement detection sensors are densely arranged. <P>SOLUTION: A medium thickness detection device, which comprises displacement detection sensors 33a-33l facing respective detection rollers 34a-34f, and detects amount of roller displacement by elastic displacement of the detection rollers 34a-34f due to the change in a magnetic field generated by coils of each displacement detection sensor 33a-33l, is configured to divide a plurality of displacement detection sensors 33a-33l arranged along axis directions of the detection rollers 34a-34f into non-adjacent groups (a), (b) classified by non-adjacent group not adjacent in the arrangement directions and switch the non-adjacent groups (a), (b) for obtaining the amount of the displacement of the detection rollers 34a-34f. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
