PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head of high printing quality which can utilize the number of bit of driver IC effectively. SOLUTION: The thermal head 1 includes a head substrate 110 in which a plurality of heating elements 145 have been arranged at series, and a plurality of driver ICs 130 which are mounted in the head substrate 110 and generates heat selectively in predetermined number of the heating elements 145.
