PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a paste coating device which can prevent idle discharge of paste and can reliably discharge a constant amount of paste; an electronic component joining device; a paste coating method; and an electronic component joining method. SOLUTION: A positive pressure is supplied in a paste storing part 8a, and the past PT is discharged from a paste discharge port 8b. Then a negative pressure is supplied in the paste storing part 8a, and a pressure in the paste storing part 8a is adjusted to be a holding pressure for holding in the paste storing part 8a with no dripping of the paste PT in the paste storing part 8a from the paste discharge port 8b, based on measurement information of a pressure in the paste storing part 8a by a pressure gauge 34.
