PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic unit that can be flattened as a whole and is readily assembled, and to provide a ring coil motor made by coupling together a plurality of the electromagnetic units. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic unit includes a stator unit 100A and a rotor unit 200A. The stator unit 100A has a ring-shaped stator core 101, having a stator magnetic yoke 102 and a line of stator magnetic teeth 103, arranged along the circumference of the yoke. The stator unit 100A, further, has a ring-shaped coil 300 disposed coaxial with and close to the stator core 101. The rotor unit 200A has a line of rotor magnetic teeth 202 or a rotor magnetic pole and is disposed coaxial with the stator unit 100A. Each of the teeth of the line of stator magnetic teeth 103 is formed along the direction of axis of the stator magnetic yoke 102, and the line of rotor magnetic teeth 202 or the rotor magnetic pole is disposed opposite to the line of stator magnetic teeth 103.
