PURPOSE: A protection device for a vehicle door, which is in the form of measuring tape, is provided to ensure easy installation in a vehicle door and reduce the volume when not in use. CONSTITUTION: A protection device for a vehicle door comprises a main body(10), a reel(20), a rubber band(30), a pulling unit(50), a retracting unit(80), and a stopper(90). The main body is attached with a magnet to a door or vehicle body around the door. The reel is turned clockwise or counterclockwise within the main body. The rubber band is rolled in the reel with one end exposed to the outside of the main body through a slot(11) and the other end fixed to the reel. The pulling unit is attached to the exposed end of the rubber band in order to pull the rubber band out of the body. The retracting unit is connected to the reel so that the pulled rubber band automatically retracts. The stopper prevents and allows the retraction of the rubber band by the retracting unit when pulling out and retracting the rubber band, respectively.
