<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a channel search time during moving in a reception area and thereby shorten the interruption time of viewing of a program by channel search in a receiver that receives broadcast while moving. <P>SOLUTION: A station selection control unit 17 rearranges a list of relay station channels of each broadcast station stored in an information storing unit 15 in the chronological order of reception by a broadcast receiving unit 11, most recently selected and received channel first. Based on the list of relay station channels, a channel that has a network ID identical with that of a broadcast to be searched for is searched for. When there is no such channel available, the present positional information is acquired. Based on the list of relay station channels and the present positional information, a channel having a system ID identical with that of the broadcast to be searched for, with the current area considered to be a broadcast area, is searched for.
