<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reading apparatus capable of correcting the inclination of image data without pressing a memory area in the case of inclination correction. <P>SOLUTION: Reading due to a lower surface reader 15 is started (S2), and an inclination angleθis detected from stored read data and stored in a memory 18 (S5). Each time line data is read by an upper surface reader 14, the line data is stored in a line memory 16 and in an image processor 17, inclination correction is performed on the basis of an inclination angle -θ.
